Tim studied English Literature at Bristol University 2007-2010, and is currently studying for an MA in Multimedia Journalism at Bournemouth University.

His experience in media includes writing for an in-house magazine at Science company QinetiQ during his gap year, stints at various voluntary music magazines during University and an internship at commercial radio station Andover Sound in 2010.

He has particular interests in feature writing and documentary making. In his spare time, he practices amateur stand up comedy.

Violent clashes across Syria

There have been violent clashes between government troops and rebel forces across Syria. The heaviest fighting has been taking place in the outskirts of the Syrian capital of Damascus. Government soldiers have set up checkpoints along the roads to towns including Harasta, Douma and Sakba – all within 15 km of the Capital. Convoys of tanks have been seen advancing towards rebel held areas, and intermittent gunfire can be heard.

A charity in Bournemouth that works to help people affected by social isolation is holding a fundraising breakfast this Saturday. Faithworks Wessex is a local group that works with people at risk of becoming isolated from society, including the homeless, the elderly, the bereaved, or those caring for someone.

Police release tanker crash name

Police have released the name of the man charged with a string of offences after a lorry crashed into a house in Wool last Friday. Hugh Billington, 51, of Yeovil, is appearing at Weymouth Magistrates Court this morning charged with arson with intent to endanger life, arson reckless as to whether life endangered, assault by beating, dangerous driving, theft and breach of bail.

Landlords support Boscombe housing plans

The National Landlords Association has said it will cooperate fully with the Council in its plans to improve standards of housing in Boscombe. Earlier this month, the council called on local landlords to help them improve standards in the area, after an assessment found that it is one of the most deprived parts of Bournemouth. They have said they want local landlords to help them identify properties that need improving. They also said they want to help tenants by providing them with guidance and advice if they think their property is not up to scratch.
