New funding for flood hit residents and businesses

The Repair and Renew Grant has just been launched for flood victims.

Homeowners who have been affected by floods in Bournemouth are now able to apply for up to £5,000 towards taking measures to make their properties more resilient to future flooding.

The newly-launched Repair and Renew Grant is part of a government funding scheme to support those who were affected by flooding between 1 December 2013 and 31 March 2014.

Bournemouth Borough Council will be administering claims for local residents and businesses. The deadline for applications is 30 June.

Tony Williams, Chief Executive at Bournemouth Borough Council, said: “For many of our residents, the recent flooding had devastating effects on their homes and their businesses. We’re keen to help local people get back on their feet as soon as possible after the flooding and build a more resilient defence against future flooding in Bournemouth.”
