The petition reads: “The government repeatedly claims exiting the EU is ‘the will of the people’. We need to put a stop to this claim by proving the strength of public support now, for remaining in the EU.”

The creator of the petition, Margeret Georgiadou, has said she’s received death threats:

On Saturday, organisers of the People’s Vote march in London estimated that over 1 million individuals walked the streets of the city in protest to Brexit.

The march was led by the Put It to the People campaign, which is calling for a second referendum. The demonstration ended with a rally outside Parliament, with speakers including Sadiq Khan and Nicola Sturgeon.

Although the original exit date of 29 March no longer applies, when or if Britain will leave the EU is unclear.

Last week in Brussels, EU leaders agreed to give Britain until 22 May if Parliament accept Theresa May’s deal. Otherwise, we have until 12 April.

Calls have emerged over the weekend for Mrs May to step down as Prime Minister, with claims of a plot to oust her being denied by senior ministers.
