The African nation, Gambia has been under the rule of a dictator President Yahya Jammeh for the past 18 years. He has allegedly suppressed and intimidated any form of opposition and continued to win election after election. However protests against him are increasingly receiving global interest. International media and organisations have condemned Jammeh's acts with little impact. Protesters continue to gather attention of the global community to find a solution to their issue.

The mayor of Poole has promised that the 12 candidates who shone at last Friday's UKYP elections will have the honour of joining dignitaries on the first crossing of the new Twin Sails Bridge. The community event to celebrate the opening of the bridge,will take place on the 24th and 25th February, before the bridge is finally open to traffic on the 27th.
