Police in Poole are appealing for witnesses after two men walked into a shop in Upton and robbed it at gunpoint.

The robbery happened at around 10pm last Thursday, 1 March 2012. Two men went into the Spar shop at Upton Triangle and threatened a member of staff  before taking a large quantity of cigarettes and money.

The police have released CCTV images of two men that they would like to speak to.

DC Steve May of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “This was a highly distressing incident and I would urge anyone who recognises these men or who has information about those responsible to contact me as soon as possible.

“I also understand that a customer entered the store during the robbery.

“A member of staff was able to complete her transaction while one of the offenders, who was standing behind the counter, removed his facial covering in order to look less suspicious.

“I am particularly keen to trace the customer, a heavily pregnant woman, who was served while the robbery was taking place.
“She may hold vital information and I would encourage her to contact me as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 1:510, or alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
