New play trail at Upton Country Park in Poole

A new play trail has been opened at Upton Country Park in Poole, Dorset.

Inaugurated by Mayor of Poole Cllr Carol Evans, the new trail has many opportunities for kids to spend their exuberant energy.

The ten-structure trail starts in the car park and takes in the lawn close to the Education Centre and Grove Wood.

A rope swing has also been installed with a stack of timber to launch from and a disc tower for climbing.

The mayor could be seen having fun on each of these on the day of the inauguration.

Carved cider timber blocks have been setup along the trail with pictures of animals, trees and leaves. The small holes in each block allow the kids to travel through them.

Adam Browne, a father of two, said: “I think this is amazing. We had been looking forward to it for sometime now. My kids are enjoying it a lot.”

Councilor Evans said: “I can’t wait to see many, many children enjoying this new feature of an already much-loved park.”

Parents were especially happy with all the new features for their kids to enjoy.

“Excellent for parents and children,” said Tim Norris, resident of Bournemouth.

The day of the inauguration had exciting activities for kids like free face painting, with parents indulging as much as their children. Free refreshments were also provided for all the visitors.

The carved disks were especially attractive as 24th Bournemouth Scout Group helped carve the pictures a few days before the inauguration.

If you have not visited the new park trail yet, try and make a stop for some rest and relaxation with your kids. Everyone from young kids to old people, and dogs to cats are welcome.
