Mental health and mental wellbeing is increasingly becoming a cause of concern in West African Nigeria.

Mental health and mental wellbeing is increasingly becoming a cause of concern in West African Nigeria.

As at 2017, 4 out of 10 Nigerians are said to suffer from mental health disorders,  according to the  World Health Organisation.

That is an estimated 30% of its population,  a mjority of whom are women and young adults.

However, little or no attention is paid to the causes and reason for the mental health epidemic in Nigeria especially among women and young adults.

However, it has been long established that the leading causes of trauma to women borders around thier marriages, and children.

Yet, no one is talking about this.

Silent voices speaks of these women who suffer trauma in marriages, and  in trying to get access or custody to thier children after divorce.

And also on the possible causes of mental health disroders in the  young adults – childhood trauma.
