Bournemouth 2 – 1 Tranmere

Saturday 21st January 2012.
Bournemouth Manager Lee Bradbury put his latest victory down to character, discipline and good shape, after overcoming a one-goal deficit against visitors Tranmere, in blustery conditions at the Seward Stadium.

Rovers took the lead after 4 minutes when a long ball, helped by adverse conditions, found Martin Devaney, who volleyed past a bewildered Darryl Flahavan.

Fourteen minutes later Wes Thomas levelled for the Cherries after his deflected shot looped over Paul Rachubka.

And Marc Pugh scored the winner in the 30th minute, leaving spectators scratching their heads wondering whether his strike on goal was intended as a cross, as he curved the ball from the left hand channel to the top right corner of the goal.

However this didn’t matter to Cherries fans as they extended their unbeaten run to six games, putting them within reach of a play-off spot.
