Night taxi drivers in Bournemouth are protesting against a taxi rank’s removal from Old Christchurch Road due to a council street improvement scheme.  Taxi drivers argue that this situation it is not only affecting them financially, but is also inconveniencing the people that get a taxi after a night out in the busiest road in the town. Bournemouth Borough Council says that it is only a matter of time until people work out where to go to get a taxi. Taxi drivers will continue protesting, however the council has stressed that the decision to remove the rank will be maintained.
