Witness appeal after armed robbery at Charminster petrol station

a CCTV image of two men robbing a petrol station in BournemouthBournemouth detectives are appealing for witnesses after a CCTV image was released of an armed robbery at the Esso petrol station on Charminster Road.

Two men holding a claw hammer and a knife entered the rear of the store yesterday evening, threatening a member of staff while making demands for money.

An amount of cash was stolen from the petrol station.

The member of staff suffered chest, back and arm injuries, and was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is not life-threatening.

A search of the area was carried out following the incident. No arrests have been made.

The first offender is described as wearing a black shiny quilted jacket and black jogging bottoms, the second wearing a grey waterproof jacket and smart shoes.

Detective Inspector Wayne Seymour, of Bournemouth CID, said: “A full investigation is underway to find the two men responsible for this incident.”

“I am now in a position to release CCTV images of the suspects involved and am appealing to anyone who recognises the people pictured, possibly by their clothing, to please come forward.”
