Big shops closing, business as usual?

New Look announced yesterday that they would be closing 60 out of their 593 stores.

New Look said in a press release that it had to “reduce it’s UK store estate and rental costs amid challenged trading performance and a difficult retail environment”.

They aren’t the only big business that have announced closures in the past few months. A number of changes to business expenses have small businesses worried. Both Prezzo and Marks and Spencer have announced closures effecting their locations in the Bournemouth area in the recent months.

These closures show the changes taking place across the nation. We spoke to members of the public about how they feel about closures on the high street.
