On World Creativity and Innovation Day, the United Nations is celebrating small businesses started during the coronavirus pandemic.
The arrival of the pandemic challenged the lives of families and businesses across the globe. However, some also found it as an outlet for creativity.
Anchu Alexander, an entrepreneur from India, started a small crafts business during the pandemic. “More than the monetary benefit I love to see the smile on others’ face when they get my crafts,” she says.
The United Nations says innovation is essential for the betterment of society. UNCTAD Acting Secretary-General Isabelle Durant believes that the creative industry is essential for attaining the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals as well.
