MET Office snow warnings continue overnight

Snow and severe weather warnings for Bournemouth and Poole are set to continue throughout the day and overnight.

The snow and icy gales which hit Bournemouth late Sunday evening could linger until early Tuesday morning say MET Office warnings.

[one_half]The MET Office are cautioning residents to be aware of the risk of disruption to travel and warn that from dusk the snow could begin to settle.

Up to 2-5 centimetres of snowfall could settle in Bournemouth overnight say MET Office warnings.

So far little interruption has occurred to public transport in Bournemouth and Poole but the Condor Ferries services to the Channel Islands have been disrupted.[/one_half] [one_half_last]

Bournemouth has also managed to keep its schools open and running but closures in West Dorset are a warning that more snow could disrupt services tomorrow.

A swell of depression across Northern France is concerning meteorologists as it could bring prolonged snowy spells to Dorset and other Southern counties.
