Students raising £500 for the homeless people of Bournemouth

The fundraising’s owners are Sam Evans and Laura Sutton, both studying the final year at Bournemouth University.

The most vulnerable people in our community are struggling to survive in potentially fatal conditions – Sam Evans

“The cold weather that is hitting the country at the moment means that the most vulnerable people in our community are struggling to survive in potentially fatal conditions. We have put together a pack to help the homeless people of Bournemouth stay safe and warm in the cold weather”,  shared Laura Sutton.

All the money raised would be spent on the survival packs to help homeless people in town keep warm and safe in the severe weather condition of this year’s winter. Each pack costs £11, including a fold away rucksack, a two – way survival blanket, a fleece jumper, a pair of gloves, a snood and a wooly hat.

The targeted amount of £500 is expected to help about 45 homeless people in Bouremouth.

The pair has set up a crowdfunding page on the JustGiving website at http://bit.ly/2HXAmew, via which individuals can access and donate online. All the donations from local business are also welcomed to help more homeless people in Bournemouth.

For the last 10 days, the fund has reached £73, which makes up 14% of the targeted goal.
