Bournemouth residents talk about Lent

Lent, the traditional season of repentance and penance for practicing Christians begins today which is known as Ash Wednesday.

The period of forty days lasts until Easter Sunday and recalls the fast maintained by Jesus Christ prior to beginning his public ministry. Christians are called to fast and pray as well give alms in order to grow in spiritual strength and grow closer to Christ.

The Breaker spoke to Bournemouth residents about what they’re giving up for Lent:
