The cookery club

Two Bournemouth charities have came together to offer cookery courses in Poole.

Unity in Vision, the Friendly Food club are working with the Training and Learning Company at the Latter Day Saints Church in Poole.

The groups provide training in basic food hygiene and cooking skills over a five-week period.

One of the aims of the course is to foster diversity and integration within the local communities.

Rita El Gazali, one of the coordinators, says the course is a progression route for people who want to work in  catering and hospitality in Bournemouth.

Landlords support Boscombe housing plans

The National Landlords Association has said it will cooperate fully with the Council in its plans to improve standards of housing in Boscombe. Earlier this month, the council called on local landlords to help them improve standards in the area, after an assessment found that it is one of the most deprived parts of Bournemouth. They have said they want local landlords to help them identify properties that need improving. They also said they want to help tenants by providing them with guidance and advice if they think their property is not up to scratch.
